Project Roefel day 2016
On June 3rd, 2016, the Roefel Day was organized for the 10th time by the Federation of Antillean Youth Care (FAJ) in collaboration with Fundashon Negoshi Pikiña (FNP) and Fundashon Desaroyo i Progreso (FDiP). The following six schools participated in this project: Princess Margriet School, Pedro Luis Brion School, School Myrna Dovale, Sta. Rosa de Lima School, St. Paulus College and Dr. Albert Schweitzer College. A total of 125 children participated. Partly through the support of Rotary Willemstad, a total of 37 companies / institutes succeeded in allowing the children to have a ‘working experience’ and actively ‘roefel’.
On the Roefeldag itself, always on a friday afternoon, each group of 4 children with a supervisor, according to a schedule made by the FAJ, could use two roefel places (companies / institutions). The participants see this project as an interesting and educational opportunity to make children acquainted at an early stage with the work taking place in the various companies. The children and coaches enjoyed it all the time. Even the companies were enthusiastic, especially by the questions and reactions of the children.
